Mabinogi, the game
100 wordsThe folk stories of the Mabinogion are a mainstay of Welsh education, are rattling good yarns, and I’m sure contain glimpses of the roots of civilisation (what little I know about the Hindo Ramayana has strong echoes of the hunt for the Twrch Trwyth; a pursuit punctuated by transformations into various animal forms).
So here’s an intriguing prospect: Mabinogi is a Korean online game, purportedly based on the Mabinogion, but with typically East Asian kawaii design. How peculiar.
I must say, my mental image of the Mabinogi’s environment is of a far less technologically developed culture. Those buildings look very grand indeed.
