35 words“Nine. Effty-nine. Eleven. Two. Ninety-dee. Seventy-four. Eety-three. Fifty-bee. Deety-eight. Forty-one. Fifty-six. Ceety-five. Sixty-three. Fifty-six. Eighty-eight. Ceety.”
Does it make sense that I could get in trouble for repeating (and arguably, obfuscating) the above Very Secret Number?

Actually, those were quite obfuscated. I thought eety was 80 and couldn’t work out what deety or ceety were without looking at the original. But perhaps this is hexadecimal slang I missed out on. I don’t think I’ve ever discussed hex numbers with anyone before.
As to whether it makes sense that you can get into trouble for repeating the numbers, the argument runs that they’re intellectual property in which case it’s the same argument as whether you should be allowed to repeat song lyrics or images on your blog without permission.
I have problems with that because although I support copyright, I’m against DRM and this intellectual property exists solely to stop people making fair use of works they have paid for.
