Last night we had a small soiree in lieu of a Happy Friday. It worked out quite civilised — I don’t know whether it’s because we insisted on cocktails instead of beer, whether it was the oh-so-sophisticated dress code (ironic, honest!) or the fact that Paul’s grown up.
