Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest

83 words

The film we saw in London was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

Mark Kermode put me off it. I shouldn’t have listened. He hated the first one too, which I thought was terrific fun. But he said that even if you liked the first one, this one was bad.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sets and locations dripped with piratey atmosphere, Johnny Depp was fun. It rolled along at a nice pace, and there was a Monkey Island-like voodoo priestess in a swamp.

    1. I concur, it was great fun, hammed up and with plenty of swashbuckling
    2. Dave thinks someone should make a film of Monkey Island and I tend to think he has a point

I was disapointed that there wasn’t any mention of a spitting competition.

If their is a third film then I hope it’s more monkey island than Sid Miers Pirates, otherwise we’d have an hour of dancing with an hour of just sailing between ports, hoping the guy you are after is there.

Saying that it would still be more entertaining than Lord of the rings 3.
