Late mention: Ascroft wedding
254 wordsLook, I’m just easing back into blogging.
Almost as soon as we got back from Bali, we went to Brighton for Tom and Fiona’s wedding.
The car journey to Brighton was ridiculous – we spent about 3 of the 5 hours crawling around the M25. I mean, what a ridiculous place to put a town.
Other than it’s crazy location, Brighton turned out to be quite a pleasant place to be. PFH and Trud[iy] met us on the Friday evening and took us for food and music and a stroll home along the prom. The music was from “Austin Powers’ International Band of Mystery”, who did poor impersonations of Austin Powers characters, and great fun disco covers. One punter having a whale of a time grooving to the camp 70s tunes, was wearing a Richard Ashcroft t-shirt, which I found incongruous.
We weren’t important enough for the wedding itself, but we turned up to wave them into the registry office and back out, whereupon everyone walked across the road to the Hove Club for Pimms, champagne, chatting and such and such.
The speeches were just right, we enjoy the food and wine. Towards the end, Mark indicated to me that “Jump Around” was playing, so we hit the dancefloor and stayed there until the music stopped (despite at one stage being piledriven by the groom).
The photos are on my camera still. They’ll turn up on Flickr eventually. I also have a backlog of Bali pictures to publish…
Congratulations Tom and Fiona (who I guess are still on honeymoon in Thailand).
