At Home with John and Debbie

My hands sore from DIY, we went to the New Windmill Ground for the first match the MFA season, against Oadby.

Oadby gave a good solid game, and as we went into extra time, the 0-0 scoreline seemed mostly consistent with the run of play. Leamington had been denied a penalty earlier in the game due to frankly shocking refereeing, and a couple of good shots had gone slightly wide or hit the woodwork, but equally there were some nasty scares at the other end.

Then, in the 93rd minute, Josh Blake got to a cross from a corner, and made it 1-0. If I were with Oadby I’d have been pretty disappointed.

I’m slowly learning who the new players are. Adam Knight (a superhero name, don’t you think) stood out in midfield, mostly due to having the same hair as Steve, and Jamie Towers seemed strong and fast on the right wing.
