Leamington 1 - 3 Barwell
140 wordsIt was all very exciting going to Walsall’s proper stadium for the final of the Polymac League Cup against Barwell (a bus stop near Hinckley).
It ended in disappointment. The Brakes didn’t play their best in the first half, and gave away a silly goal as a result. There was still hope, but it faded when they put away another one 15 minutes into the second half.
A scramble resulted in a Barwell own goal, and we had 19 minutes left to draw even.
A very dubious penalty resulted in Barwell’s third goal, and so instead of cup glory, we were treated to the undignified sight of Jon Adams crying his eyes out.
We don’t like Barwell, by the way — a couple of their forwards take pleasure in making cynical dives, then baiting the crowd about it afterwards while the ref’s not looking.
