Google Calendar
225 wordsFor a while I’ve been running WebCalendar on this very site (you never noticed did you?) as a way to try and organise mine and Debbie’s schedules. It allows each of us to have our own calendar, as well as a shared one, and look at all three (or more) in a layered view.
However, now I’ve switched to Google Calendar. It seems to do all the same stuff, but has the advantage of a nifty Gmail-esque AJAX interface, and the fact that I don’t have to administer it.
The disadvantage, of course, is that Google knows my schedule — but I got over that with Gmail, and I don’t really mind this either.
So, I have a calendar that’s only viewable by myself and Debbie, Debbie has a calendar that only she and I can view, we have a “John and Debbie” calendar that both of us can manage and view. There are also oodles of public calendars you can add to your view, the most immediately useful to everyone being their national holidays.
So you’re wondering, “What about the World Cup?”. Gary found the best public calendar for you: it’s titled “England World Cup Glory”, will include UK TV information, and the author commits to updating the scores and later round fixtures as they come in.
Come the new season, I may well maintain a Brakes fixtures calendar…
