Bumper Leamington panorama crop

Friday, December 30th, 2005

We went into town yesterday to get some lunch, some late Christmas presents, and some sales shopping. I took my camera though, and despite Debbie’s complaints, I paused for a few video pans, to turn into panoramas.
I’m very pleased with the results:

Don’t forget the “all sizes” button above the Flickr view.

Photo of the week is now “occasional photo”.
This one is fun, so I thought I would share.

VideoRama

Wednesday, December 28th, 2005

For the last couple of weeks I’ve been experimenting with using the video mode on my camera, and some post-processing, as a slit-scan panoramic camera. For the moment I’m calling it “VideoRama”, but your suggestions for an alternative name are welcome.
(”Tomography” from the greek for “slice” is taken; “videotomopanography” is too long winded. [...]

Racing Club Warwick 0 - 1 Leamington

Monday, December 26th, 2005

We set off from Aberystwyth at 8am on Boxing Day, and made it in comfortable time for the local Derby between Warwick and Leamington. The crowd was mighty, and heftily weighted in favour of Leamington.
Richard Adams scored the goal, a few minutes into the second half, and it was a cracker.

Christmas

Monday, December 26th, 2005

We set off for Aberystwyth on Thursday, to spend Christmas with Mum and Dad. On Friday we went to Bwlch Nant yr Arian to watch Red Kites feasting on fresh meat, and on Christmas Eve we went into Aber for a wander around and a coffee. In between, parents foisted food and drink upon [...]

A weekend

Monday, December 19th, 2005

Friday: pizza with Steve, then back home to watch the “grand reveal” of the Space Cadets prank.
Saturday: A 200 mile wild goose chase to Rocester, Staffs, and back, for a football game which turned out to be postponed. Non-league football is summed up by Leamington FC’s web site:

Both clubs wanted the match to take [...]

Apple lies

Friday, December 16th, 2005

While my hosting people beaver away fixing my database issue (not paying for backups, and not bothering to take my own, I won’t be surprised if all comments get lost), [Update: look, they fixed it with no losses. Hooray.] let’s take our minds off things by watching how Apple lies to you.
Here: [...]

Sorry this page looks so horrible at the moment. I believe my hosting service is having some database issues.
Update: fixed!

Nobody beats gravity

Heads up!
24 Hour Party People is on Channel 4 on Wednesday.
It’s really really good, and you should watch it.
I don’t think I’m spoiling the surprise for anyone when I reveal that Ian Curtis dies. What’s surprising is that although he is in no way portrayed as a nice person, I cried buckets at the [...]

Leamington 2 - 1 Liversedge

Monday, December 12th, 2005

“MASSIVE” is how one fan described Saturday’s FA Vase draw against Liversedge, from too close to Ossett for comfort. Winning this one would take Leamington to the fourth round of the Vase, as far as they’ve ever been.
For 12 minutes, Leamington looked outclassed, with most passes being intercepted. But in the 12th minute, Richard [...]
