Leamington 1 - 1 Quorn

150 words

A league match! At home! Not only this, but with Abbi conveniently diverted by work, Tom got to come along too.

Visitors Quorn are top of the table, so we were anticipating some excitement. Ryan Howell scored in the first half, but the record League crowd of 621 could only muster a polite clap. When Quorn equalised, after a scrappy everyone-in-the-box-at-once episode, the only way those of us watching from the other end of the pitch (the glory-hunter’s end) could tell it had gone in was that it went even quieter. No Quorn fans cut through the silence with any celebrations.

In the second half, things got a bit more exciting, with the Brakes setting up a number of good chances, only to squander them all. In the last five minutes Brakes looked like scoring several times, and some hearts may even have nudged towards mouths. The score remained at 1-1 however.
