Hossies
161 wordsYesterday, we joined Paul, Anton (sp?), Gary and MC for a day at Warwick races.
The weather was kind, our losses were tolerable, they sold beer and burgers, and a good time was had by all.
Afterwards we were disappointed to find that the Fourpenny Shop’s chef was on holiday, and traipsed to several restaurants which could not accommodate us. Eventually we were seated at the Spice Hut curry house on Warwick Market Square, where we got nice enough food (and the only thalis I’ve seen in the Leamington/Warwick conurbation) but service bad enough to spoil everything.
Paul refused to acknowledge that this would never have happened in Leamington. OK, Bath Street. I’m a bit suspicious of those curry houses North of the river, and the Delhi Palace can sometimes be a victim of its own popularity. On the bus home, he also claimed that the lights on pelican crossings are not traffic lights, and that Beauchamp Road is pronounced Beecham Road (again).
