Photic sneezing

I get it too; although I don’t get sinus headaches like Ruth does, so the sneezing is more of a nuicance than a blessing. When Mum used to drive us into Aberystwyth every morning, I would pretty much always go into a sneezing fit as we came over the brow of the hill to be presented by the big sky and the sea.
I also go into sneezing fits after eating well. Is there a name for that too?

Interesting what you say about the sky AND the sea setting off the reaction. I have often noticed that when light comes from both above (the sun) and below or from the side (as off snow or water on the street), it’s a bigger reaction than if it is just the sun. Quite a danger if you’re driving!
Sneezing after eating seems to be a similar sort of reaction, but they dont necessarily go together - I have never experienced it nor any of my family, but people have written in about it to see if it has the same cause. Are they the same sort of sneezing fits?
