May Day Stadium, Pyongyang

80 words, 1 image

Well, here’s my Google Maps find of the day: May Day Stadium in Pyongyang, North Korea. This 150,000 seater stadium, the largest in the world, is where the astonishing “mass games” are held, to honour Kim Jong-Il, the “Dear Leader”.

I found some pictures of the mass games. The moving pictures which form the backdrop are formed from placards held up by schoolchildren, who manipulate their pixels with perfect precision, to move from picture to picture, and even to animate scenes.

Wow!
