Why, why am I so susceptible to all this Star Wars hype?

I never loved the first trilogy as a child.

I caught up when they re-released episodes IV-VI, giving each one a revisionist half a thumb up.

I came out of Episode I feeling like someone who’d just fallen for a con artist’s scam. The three shell game, maybe.

I saw the trailer for Episode II and thought, “OK, this one looks a bit more interesting”. I came out of that one feeling like someone who’s gone back to the same con artist saying “OK, you got me with the three shells last time, but this time I’ll win”.

And now, again, here I am thinking “Yes, I know the others were rubbish, but this one looks quite good”. I am weak.

I did enjoy Lego Star Wars though…
