Weekend activities

298 words

Saturday:

  • Finished last night’s pizza, for breakfast
  • Strolled into town
  • Had a nosey at the reopened Regent Hotel
  • Got some keys cut: now Steve has a spare set in case one of us locks ourselves out, and our guests can have a working set of their very own!
  • Had a nice coffee at Cafe Nero — I think their layout must cost them custom: when it looks full, there’s actually plentiful seating at the back and upstairs.
  • Bought some fancy bread, cheese, hummous and olives for a mid afternoon tea
  • Called into the library, found ourselves browsing historical Leamington stuff in the reference library — which was highly entertaining
  • Went home and ate our bread, cheese, hummous, olives
  • Got a call from Ajay, who had intended to stay in his vacant flat (currently on the market: yours for £155,000, but found that his keys were faulty. Invited him and Iciar to come to ours instead
  • Had a coffee/tea and a chat
  • Joined Tom in The Jug to celebrate his birthday
  • Left the pub at around 10
  • Gave Tom the bumps
  • Had a curry
  • Went home: Ajay and Iciar’s key problem was unsolved, so they stayed at ours. PFH kept us talking until we were properly tired
  • Went to bed

Sunday:

  • Woke late
  • Found a note from A+I, “Gone for a walk, call when you’re ready for us to buy you breakfast”
  • Called Ajay
  • Went to The Jug for food — it wasn’t open
  • Did a circuit of the Jephson Gardens pond, to kill time until The Jug opened.
  • Walked into The Jug the moment its doors opened
  • “Breakfast” was roast beef all round
  • Took A+I to see the future G International office
  • Dropped them at the station, went to Asda for some food shopping
  • Got home, MC showed up with some cake! That’ll be nice for our pudding later.
  • Planted some Sweet Pea seeds in new pots and compost from Asda
  • Wrote a list based blog entry.
