Dumped Bloglines

156 words

Bloglines seems to have forgotten
about Gary’s RSS
feed. This is after it forgot about mine, I mailed them, they thanked me
for telling them, then failed to fix it.

So, you can’t rely on Bloglines, and really you want to be able to.
I know most feeds are frivolous, but not all of them are, and frivolous
or not, you want to at least know when you’re missing out.

So, I’ve installed SharpReader,
a standalone Windows application for aggregating RSS feeds. It seems to
do what you’d expect, and the good news is that it can import a set of
subscriptions exported from Bloglines.

I still like Blogline’s “search feeds”, so I’ll continue to use it for
that. If only the search feed could be delivered as RSS…

Wondering what on earth I’m talking about? The BBC can explain.

Update: per the comment attached to this post, Bloglines spotted this
entry, and has now fixed the bug. Thanks! It did appear to take a public
whinge to get that done however.
