Lovely Posters

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

I made a lovely poster out of my Leamington Pubs pictures. (a scaled down preview image of the poster is also on that site).

Rather than just buy one for myself from Photobox at 20, I decided to get 20 in order to qualify for their quantity discount. This means I have 19 to sell. […]

Leamington Exposed Forum

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

Some of us have enjoyed some banter, and some anal documenting of minor
changes in Leamington and Warwick, in the Orkut “Warwick and Leamington Spa”
community forum.

However, Orkut is a little non-inclusive* , and I stumbled on this
‘ere
messageboard. It’s quiet. Too quiet. What say we all leap in and make some
noise?

*I’d prefer to use the word “exclusive” […]

Idea: Consolidate Colour Order

Monday, September 27th, 2004

It occurred to me last night that the order in which colours are used is not standardised. I think a start could be made by consolidating the colour orders in two important areas: martial arts belts, and snooker.
Hence, once my standard is adopted, trainees will start with a red belt, then progress through yellow, […]

Big Fish

Sunday, September 26th, 2004

We watched Tim Burton’s Big
Fish last night. During, I found myself strangely unimpressed, chuckling at
the odd joke, but not totally satisfied. I think it might be that
Santa Sangre set the
standard for the exotica of the circus, so this couldn’t compete there.
Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney — though both excellent (especially
Finney) — don’t have particularly convincing […]

Selling Music in the Future

Thursday, September 23rd, 2004

Here
is a rather interesting speech given by Some Bozo — to actual record industry
bigwigs — about the futility
of trying to staunch P2P music sharing, and how he thinks the music industry
could continue to turn a profit in a world where sharing is ubiquitous.

However much one wishes to take the moral high ground, many of us […]

Funk!

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2004

Roger makes fun funk music.
Roger might be someone you’ve heard of.

I burned my modem. We all did.

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

We just watched Alien: Resurrection. We watched it for completeness. I’d seen it before and didn’t remember it as being all that good. Imagine my surprise then, to find myself thoroughly enjoying myself throughout. Top stuff!
I particularly liked Sigourney Weaver’s lizard-like demeanour throughout. I liked the action. I liked the dark humour. I liked […]

Title

When I read this item about vague patents, I really hoped it would be along
the lines of Mark and Lard’s
Vague News…

“An Apparatus for doing Something or Other with a Kind of Thing”.

What’s Yours Doing?

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

Here’s a discovery I should probably have found sooner.
TheyWorkForYou.com is a
