All Pubs Photographed

195 words

We went out this afternoon and photographed another 17 pubs, bringing the
total to 74 and, I believe, every pub and nightclub in Leamington.
Here they are.

There are some establishments that are a little hard to classify: Sip,
Toyk and to a lesser extent Stresa might be pubs, or they might be cafes.
Toyk especially is licenced, but has no bar service: just table service.
Stresa serves beer and cocktails from a bar, so it’s probably fine. Sip’s
signage claims it is a “bar + coffee shop”, but it does not keep normal pub
hours.

Today’s outing was particularly interesting, since I’d never seen
several of the Northeast Leamington pubs before. A sudden shower gave us an
excuse to pop into the Somerville for a nice IPA each. Between the Black Horse
and the Holly Bush, we stumbled on Campion Hills, with its fantastic view
across Leamington and its strong potential for picnics and kite flying.

So, the project is basically complete. I may revisit some of these pubs where
the light conditions were not ideal, or where I took the photo in portrait
orientation — because all landscape would tile better on a poster.

Although we don’t generally like to talk about feelings… I feel pretty
good about reaching this milestone.
