Ryton Pools / Warwick Folk Festival

133 words

On the way to an unsuccessful forage for really cheap furniture in Coventry,
we stopped for a picnic at Ryton Pools Country Park. We’ve never been before
and it was pretty. The area where we sat looks like a good kiting venue too:
I must try it out.

We went with Paul and Simon to find out what Warwick was like during the
Folk festival. We infiltrated the Conservative Club for our first drink,
and came out feeling a bit dirty. We failed to dress warmly enough to watch
the outdoor stage on the Square, so instead we listened to amateurs
“seshing” at the Zetland, the Roebuck and the New Bowling Green.

At the New Bowling Green I showed these folkies how to do it, when a 12
string guitar was forced upon me. Played them some Julian Cope. That’ll
larn ‘em.
