Embarking

I won’t tell you too much about our flying day, because let’s face it,it’s not very interesting.

We drove to Heathrow, parked at the frighteningly efficient Purple Parking car park, were shuttled to the terminal, dropped our bags with reasonably little hassle, and passed through security.

Work has sent me on a lot of flights this year, so we were able to swan around in the BA lounge swilling free wine and eating free salad. It was… OK. The wine was very good indeed.

However we got bored after a while, and went to buy some bits and bobs from Boots. I bought a DS game for the flight: Contact. It seems to be a good time sink.

There were queues to get through a second security check at the gate. The queueing was OK, but listening to the rest of the queue whingeing was irritating. Nobody missed their plane.

We had a drink and a meal, Debbie watched Rocky Balboa, I played Contact. We dosed ourselves with some Nytol, inserted earplugs, inflated neck pillows, applied eyemasks, and slept. To all intents and purposes, that made it Thursday.
