Une Voyage dans Quebec
We checked out of our hotel and had a light breakfast of cake at Second Cup, the "Canada's second favourite coffee shop" I referred to yesterday. It was good cake and good coffee.
We then split up on our respective shopping missions.
I went directly to an independent video games shop (Microplay, I think) where I ended up buying a Gamecube, three extra joypads, Super Monkey Ball, and a second hand Turbografx 16 for a fraction of the price it would have been at home.
With an hour left before I'd arranged to meet back up with Debbie, I dumped my purchases in the car and had a look around the National Photography Museum. This wasn't all that large, and had two exhibitions on show. The main exhibition was OK, but I enjoyed Ken Straiton's pictures of Tokyo most of all -- one that struck me in particular was entitled Shibuya at Dusk (I might paraphrase) and was instantly familiar to anyone who's ever played Jet Set Radio.
I still had time for a little stroll through a park, taking some pictures along the way.
I met up with Debbie in a mall where she'd been shopping for clothes, make-up and other feminine vices. We ate at an London themed "pub" called the Elephant and Castle, which served such delicacies as Cockney Burgers and Covent Garden Nachos....
We retrieved the car and crossed the river into Quebec.
Et allors! Nous somme dans Canada-Francois!
C'est tres Francois. Trop Francois peutetre? Nous somme voyagee dans la voiture pour beaucoup de kilometres avec du lac bontemps. Nous somme arrivee dans Carrillon (STOP! ... Carrillon) avec ils grand damme et gare de electricite hydroelectric. C'est magnifique!
Nous somme cherchez un singe dans un arbre. Regardez! Le singe est dans l'arbre!
Et puis, nous procedez a la Montreal. Montreal est tres grande. Il est pas un belle ville pour le driving. Nous somme dans notre wit's end.
Aprez beaucoup de hassle, nous somme arrivez dans la centre-ville, et nous visiter l'Information Touristique. Ils sont tres helpful, et nous avons reservations dans un hotel. C'est un hotel actuelle, n'est pas un Hotel de Ville. Nous ne pas falling for that one again.
Dans l'hotel, j'ai attemptez a jouer avec mon Gamecube, mais c'est impossible parce-que la television dans l'hotel est un peu bizarre. Il a un Playstation built in, mais il est $16 pour une heur et il est daylight robbery.
Demain nous somme attendez un tour dans une tram. Dans notre experience il est on bonne technique pour experiencer un nouvelle ville.
Nous somme manger dans Mike's Restaurant. La cuisine cest tres bonne, et la service est conistante avec la theme Francais -- un petit peu allegro et pas avec la bon-homie American. L'addition avez "tip 15%" en biro, c'est tres cheeky, nous penser.
Et maintenent, c'est l'heur pour dormer. Bonne nuit.
